| Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trails (or other paper ballots/records of votes).
|
| | No voting system today is perfect, but more and more experts are coming to agree that the most secure electronic voting machine currently available is an optical-scan voting machine. With op-scan machines, voters fill in oval blanks on a paper ballot which is then scanned by the machine. This provides a voter-verified paper ballot which is easy to audit. Adding a ballot-marking device makes an op-scan system accessible for people who are disabled. Note: To insure voting integrity, op-scan ballots should be precinct counted (counted in each voting precinct) rather than centrally counted.
